DoubleTree by Hilton Boston-Andover completes $6 million reno

DoubleTree by Hilton Boston-Andover has completed a year-long, $6 million renovation spearheaded by design firm Baskervill. The hotel—which is owned and managed by Plymouth, Mass.-based Linchris Hotel Corporation—remained open throughout the renovation. The project refreshed all aspects of the property from the lobby and meeting space to updates to the guestrooms, restaurant and social areas.

“This transformation represents our commitment to creating spaces that are both inspiring and comfortable for every guest,” Bob Anderson, president of Linchris Hotel Corporation, said in a statement. “By drawing on the natural beauty of Andover, we’ve created an experience that blends contemporary design with a sense of place, making every guest feel at home.”

“With this renovation, we wanted to create spaces that feel both refreshed and familiar,” said general manager Sarah Mitchell. “Our goal was to capture the essence of Andover while offering the comfort and amenities today’s travelers expect.”

The renovation draws inspiration from Andover’s Ward Reservation, home to Holt Hill, the highest point in Essex County. The project embraces a design concept called “unplugged exploration,” which offers a nod to the area’s landscapes and encourages guests to unwind and connect with nature. The interiors blend organic textures with modern finishes, where charcoal and teal greens meet warm earth tones designed to evoke the region’s natural terrain.

The Massachusetts property is designed to offer a brighter atmosphere throughout, highlighted by new seating, artwork and carpeting. A new art program showcases works by local artists and celebrates Merrimack Valley landmarks.

With reimagined meeting and event spaces, the hotel remains a venue for corporate gatherings and weddings. Refreshed guestrooms and communal areas are designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers, as well as corporate and group guests.
