Equinox Hotels is set to expand into the Caribbean with the debut of Equinox Resort Anguilla Port Nimara.
Poised to anchor the newly developed Port Nimara on Anguilla’s southwest end, the under-development 62-room Equinox Resort will occupy a stretch of coastline located between the Cap Juluca and Altamer estates. The master-planned development will also have a 118-berth marina, branded residences and a collection of 18 oceanfront villas, 18 upland villas and 35 Equinox residences. The marina and resort will operate as a unified destination under the Equinox Hotels and Port Nimara brands.
“We are thrilled to bring our unique approach to luxury performance hospitality to North America and the Caribbean,” Christopher Norton, CEO of New York, N.Y.-based Equinox Hotels, said in a statement. “Our expansion into these regions reflects our commitment to innovation and excellence. We are dedicated to creating spaces that combine urban sophistication with resort excitement, providing our guests with unparalleled experiences that align with their high-performance lifestyles.”
The project is being developed by South West Harbour—a joint venture between SF Investments Ltd., Time Equities Inc. and Antillean Developments Inc. Equinox Hotels’ expansion into Anguilla marks the brand’s second integrated marina resort concept.
South West Harbour CEO and managing partner David Mizrahi underscored the strong alignment between the partners’ vision and the Equinox brand. “Equinox Hotels perfectly aligns with our vision of Port Nimara, Anguilla, in creating unparalleled luxury marine lifestyle destinations,” he said.
With its own port of entry providing on-site customs and immigration, the marina will offer access for guests arriving by sea. Amenities planned for the resort include an Equinox Club, an all-day dining venue, The Spa by Equinox Hotels, retail and a waterfront promenade with restaurants and bars.
