California resort, casino breaks ground on expansion

Continuing a $1 billion expansion that began in 2023, Graton Resort & Casino in Rohnert Park, Calif., recently broke ground on two new hotel wings that will add 220 new rooms to the hotel's inventory. Casino executives and tribal council members of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria participated in the groundbreaking.

The new wings, which are slated to debut in 2027, extend from the existing tower. The guestrooms will have a "contemporary aesthetic," according to a statement from the company. The lobby will get an expanded retail shop and a private VIP entrance.

A cornerstone of the expansion introduces a second adults-only pool, which includes a dedicated poolside bar, a jacuzzi and 12  cabanas, including VIP options with exclusive plunge pools. Further plans include a fixed stage to host dedicated poolside entertainment.
