Hotel Equities to manage upcoming Yukon Tapestry Collection resort

In Western Canada, the developers of the upcoming Takhini, Yukon’s Hot Springs Resort, have selected Hotel Equities to manage the property. When it opens next summer, the resort also will join the Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

Located just off the Alaska Highway at KM 10 Takhini Hot Springs Road in Whitehorse, Takhini aims to be a gateway to the Yukon. The master-planned, 305-acre development from Whitehorse, Yukon-based real estate developer Joe Glynn includes the Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs and the Eclipse RV park.

The phased development will add:

  • A lakefront, First Nations-inspired 60-room hotel, spa and conference facility
  • 68 resort-style suites and villas
  • 16 glamping cabins, including 3 glass-enclosed stargazer cabins and 13 rustic cabins
  • A gastropub and community gathering spot
  • An outfitter’s adventure center for hunting, fishing and viewing the Northern Lights
  • Trails for hiking, biking and cross-country skiing

“Adding Hotel Equities to our team is a game-changer,” Glynn said in a statement. “Their proven expertise in managing distinctive, experience-driven properties will help us realize our vision for Takhini as a premier destination for travelers and a cornerstone of the local economy. Together, we’re creating something that celebrates Yukon’s culture, its people, and its natural beauty.”

Earlier this year, John Streicker, Yukon minister of tourism and culture, praised the development. "The upcoming plans for Takhini are sure to add to Yukon’s reputation as a premier travel destination for years to come. The Government of Yukon congratulates the resort on this bold investment in the future of tourism in the Yukon."

“Takhini Resort is more than a hospitality project; it’s an investment in people, culture, and sustainable growth,” added Jon Zwickel, director of real estate development. “We’re building a destination that reflects the spirit of the Yukon and its remarkable potential.”

“This development will be an extraordinary addition to Hilton’s growing portfolio in Canada,” said Martin Stitt, SVP of operations for Hotel Equities. “With our Canadian team’s deep operational experience and strong alignment with Hilton’s standards, we’re proud to bring this vision to life, one that honors the region’s heritage while delivering exceptional guest experiences.”

“We are honored to partner with Joe Glynn and Hilton to help shape such a meaningful project,” said Ryan McRae, SVP of business development at Hotel Equities. “This resort embodies the best of what we stand for: innovation, community partnership and a deep respect for place. We look forward to supporting its long-term success.”
