Kempinski Hotels and international developer JTRE have broken ground on Kempinski Grace Bay, a luxury hotel and residential project in Turks and Caicos.
The project—located on the shores of Grace Bay—introduces Switzerland-based Kempinski’s 128-year legacy of European hospitality to Turks and Caicos for the first time. Construction is underway and is scheduled to continue through 2026, with completion expected in 2028.
The property will serve as a flagship for the brand in the Americas, according to Barbara Muckermann, group CEO of Kempinski Hotels. “We are pleased to bring our art of hospitality to one of the true gems of the Caribbean and one of the world’s most desirable destinations,” she said in a statement. “The property will stand as an enduring expression of our heritage, craftsmanship and belief that true luxury is as timeless as a destination’s culture and heritage.”
The resort will be comprised of 119 private residences and four oceanfront villas, each positioned for panoramic sea views. Interiors incorporate limestone, timber and glass designed to connect indoor and outdoor living. Amenities will include multiple dining venues, a beach club, a European spa, an ocean-view fitness center, a sports pavilion with tennis and paddle courts, a children’s club and a 3,000-square-foot wine cellar.
Set across 11 acres of secluded shoreline, the development features architecture and landscaping designed to honor its natural setting. JTRE is leading the development with an emphasis on low-density planning, refined materials and sustainable design. Sustainability measures include insulated glass, solar systems and native landscaping irrigated with recycled water.
