The Hospitality Show Q&A with Cintas' Shane Bartholomew

In this installment of The Hospitality Show 2025 Q&A, Hotel Management spoke with Shane Bartholomew, enterprise sales director for hospitality at Cintas, about the latest trends, opportunities and advice for emerging leaders in the sector.

What’s one shift you're excited to see gaining momentum in hospitality right now?

While hoteliers are more focused than ever on curating personalized experiences and frictionless processes for their guests, finding areas to scale or automate is essential. The automation of routine tasks frees staff to focus on higher-touch, more human interactions, while reducing errors, lost productivity, and improving asset management.

What’s one trend or innovation you believe deserves more attention in the year ahead?

People and culture still make the most significant difference. Finding companies that come alongside hands-on training and complementary services to help with the onboarding experience of new staff. If someone is onboarded in a world-class way, the path is paved for development and future growth.

What do you see as the biggest opportunity for hospitality businesses in the coming year?

Get the easy things right. Cleanliness, high image standards for team members, and a commitment to safety are absolutes. It’s hard to layer immersive concierge or personalization if the “easy” things aren’t attended to. Some companies execute these protocols with a high degree of expertise, allowing properties to focus on delivering world-class experiences for their guests.

What advice would you share with emerging leaders as they shape the future of hospitality?

Culture doesn’t happen by accident. Leaders must lead with their hearts, exemplifying genuine care for others. There’s a magic to helping people feel like they’re a part of something special and that their future growth is within their control. Leaders must be intentional with moments that matter — moments that can make a difference in people’s lives. The hospitality industry is built on curating experiences, none more important than those who spend 5 to 7 days a week inside the property.

What was the best thing at The Hospitality Show this year?

Being around the energy of hospitality. This industry is filled with people who specialize in serving those around them and making others feel seen and heard. I’m also excited showcasing our company’s commitment to innovation by enhancing the onboarding experience for new employees.
