Florida, California, other hotels appoint GMs

A number of hotels on opposite sides of North America appointed general managers in recent weeks. Here are some names to know.

The Belgrove Resort & Spa West Palm Beach

Pyramid Global Hospitality appointed Brittany Drenth general manager of The Belgrove Resort & Spa West Palm Beach, Fla., an Autograph Collection by Marriott property. Since joining The Belgrove in 2024 as assistant general manager, Drenth helped oversee key resort initiatives including its grand opening and the launch of The Villas at The Belgrove. 

Drenth began her career in hospitality in Tallahassee at Hilton with a focus on sales and marketing. Over the years, she held leadership roles in sales and revenue management before transitioning into operations. Drenth began her time with Pyramid Global Hospitality as a reservations manager and worked her way to director of operations at the DoubleTree Hilton in Tampa. She continued to expand her hospitality experience at an independent property before returning to Pyramid Hospitality to join the newly-opened Belgrove Resort & Spa.

Fairmont Century Plaza

Hiren Prabhakar is the new general manager of The Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. 

Most recently the general manager of The St. Regis Toronto, Prabhakar has worked at Oberoi Hotels in Mumbai, Burj Al Arab in Dubai and The St. Regis Moscow. 

Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort

The Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Marriott Pompano Beach Resort appointed Leslie Weill as general manager to the newly renovated 219-guestroom resort. In this role, Weil will oversee the property’s multimillion-dollar renovation.

Weill most recently was general manager of Dua Miami, an Autograph Collection hotel, which she helped convert from the SLS Brand to the Marriott portfolio. Before that, Weil led the opening of the Moxy South Beach as general manager, overseeing all pre-opening and opening operations. She also held leadership positions at The Logan in Philadelphia, The Colonnade in Coral Gables and Turnberry Hotel Group. Over the span of her career, Weil has been an integral part of over 20 hotel openings and transitions.

JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa

JW Marriott Clearwater Beach (Fla.) Resort & Spa appointed Colin Mills general manager. Mills joins the beachfront resort following a series of leadership roles across the Marriott portfolio. Most recently, he was general manager of the Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort. Before that, he held several key positions at JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes, including director of operations, director of food & beverage and director of event management.

Mills has also held leadership roles at resorts in St. Kitts, New Orleans and Boston, consistently driving improvements in associate engagement, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.

The Mark Hotel

Elon Kenchington is the new general manager of the Mark Hotel in New York City.

Before joining The Mark, Elon held senior executive roles at several luxury hotels and hospitality groups across Europe and the Americas, including The Curtain Hotel & Members Club, The Park Tower Knightsbridge, The Bryant Park Hotel and The St. Regis New York. 

Marram

Marram, an oceanfront boutique resort in Montauk, N.Y., appointed Benjamin Levine general manager. 

Levine has worked at The Chequit, The Surf Lodge, The Maidstone Hotel, Morgans Hotel Group and The Fontainebleau Miami. Most recently at Seven Beach Lane, Levine launched a membership program, spearheaded high-profile group and event programs and implemented tech and system solutions.

Napili Shores Maui by Outrigger

Outrigger Hospitality Group appointed Jason Takaki general manager of Napili Shores Maui by Outrigger.

Takaki will be responsible for overseeing the Association of Apartment Owners for the complex and property-rental operations. Takaki most recently was director of security at the AOAO for The Whaler on Kā‘anapali Beach and previously held leadership roles in operations and rooms division management. 

Oceanpoint Ranch

Pacifica Hotels has promoted Angel Gonzalez to general manager at the Oceanpoint Ranch in Cambria, Calif. Gonzalez previously was general manager at the Fireside Inn and held the same role at Pelican Inn & Suites, where he advanced through key positions starting in 2016. 

Before joining Pacifica Hotels, Gonzalez worked at The Tides Oceanview Inn & Cottages.

Riviera Beach House

Pacifica Hotels also promoted Nicole Rodriguez to general manager at Riviera Beach House in Santa Barbara, Calif. 

She previously was assistant general manager at Sandcastle Hotel on the Beach, where she managed daily operations and championed service excellence. Rodriguez’s background also includes leadership roles at Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort & Spa, overseeing group sales, marketing and social media across the resort, restaurant, and spa. Earlier in her career, she held front-office management positions at The Cliffs Resort and Courtyard by Marriott.
