A number of hotels, including three in Hilton's soft brand portfolios, have appointed general managers in recent weeks. Here are some names to know.
The Diplomat Beach Resort
Hilton has appointed John Trovato general manager of The Diplomat Beach Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, in South Florida.
Trovato has more than 30 years of experience managing full-service hotels, luxury resorts and conference centers across major U.S. markets. Before joining The Diplomat, he was managing director for Casa Marina, A Waldorf Astoria Resort and The Reach Key West, Curio Collection by Hilton, where he led a $100 million propertywide renovation and soft rebranding.
Trovato holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from St. Vincent College. He currently is president of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association – Monroe County and vice president of The Florida Lodging Association.
Moxy Atlanta Downtown
LBA Hospitality has appointed Alfonce McKinney general manager of the Moxy Atlanta Downtown.
With 14 years of hospitality experience, McKinney has opened multiple hotels, led service-driven teams and earned accolades including general manager of the Year and Kimpton’s Rising Star award.
The Moxy Atlanta Downtown is owned by Nexera Capital and Emerge Hospitality Group,
Peregrine Hospitality
Peregrine Hospitality has announced two key leadership appointments for its hotels along California’s Central Coast. David Morneau has been promoted to area general manager for Peregrine Hospitality’s Central Coast Boutique and Lifestyle Collection, overseeing Paso Robles Inn, Avila Lighthouse Suites and Vespera Resort on Pismo Beach. At the same time, Luis Mendoza has been appointed general manager of Vespera Resort on Pismo Beach.
Morneau has more than two decades of leadership experience at properties including the Fairmont Orchid in Hawaii, Fairmont Pacific Rim and Ojai Valley Inn. A Peregrine Hospitality veteran, Morneau previously was general manager of Vespera Resort on Pismo Beach. In his new role, he will oversee a portfolio that includes the recently renovated Paso Robles Inn; its boutique sister hotel, The Piccolo at Paso Robles Inn; Avila Lighthouse Suites on Avila Beach; and Pismo’s Vespera Resort.
Morneau is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University.
Mendoza previously was general manager at Avila Lighthouse Suites, also part of Peregrine Hospitality’s Central Coast Collection.
The Printing House Nashville
The recently opened Printing House Nashville, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, appointed Gayle Wilkinson general manager.
Wilkinson most recently was general manager of Homewood Suites by Hilton Nashville, Historical Boutique Hotel under Sun Development & Management Corporation, where she led the hotel from 2014 to 2023. Her career with Hilton spans key markets including California, Alabama and Arizona.
Wilkinson began her hospitality journey as a guest service agent at an Embassy Suites in Arizona, advanced through Hilton’s Management Training Program and went on to play a key role in opening more than 20 Embassy Suites hotels nationwide.
The Statler, a Curio Collection by Hilton
JP Roberts has been named general manager at The Statler, a Curio Collection by Hilton hotel in downtown Dallas.
Roberts has led openings and repositionings for brands including 21c Museum Hotels in St. Louis, Dream Hotels in Nashville and Hotel Vandivort in Springfield-Branson, Mo.
Roberts holds a degree in hospitality, recreation and resort management from the University of West Florida.
Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa
The Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, Calif., appointed Hans Ritten general manager.
Ritten joins Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa from The Hall Park Hotel in Frisco, Texas, where he was general manager through the hotel’s opening in 2024. Before that, Ritten was managing director at Loews Philadelphia Hotel and general manager for Loews Chicago Hotel O’Hare, Omni Hotel Chicago and The Silversmith Hotel.
