Several hotels, including Hiltons in Philadelphia and Florida, have appointed general managers in recent weeks.
Castle Bamboo Waikīkī Hotel
Castle Resorts & Hotels has appointed Chue Yang general manager of Castle Bamboo Waikīkī Hotel in Honolulu.
Most recently, Yang was general manager of Royal Grove Hotel. Before that, he held management roles at the Ambassador of Hotel Waikīkī, University Quality Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Patridge Inn.
Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort
Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort has named Niels Stuedemann its new general manager.
A graduate of Les Roches Hotel Management School in Switzerland, Stuedemann’s professional journey spans the U.S., Canada, and numerous Caribbean destinations, where he has worked across independent hotels, boutique properties and international brands.
Stuedemann’s background includes time with Marriott International, having overseen hotels within the Autograph Collection, Marriott Hotels and AC by Marriott portfolios. Most recently, he led The BRIX, Autograph Collection in Trinidad from pre-opening through full launch.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Philadelphia Center City
Hilton has appointed Baris Agacbuken the new general manager of the 481-room DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Philadelphia Center City.
Before joining the property, Agacbuken was hotel manager at the 1,622-room Hilton New Orleans Riverside, where he oversaw an $80 million renovation. Before joining Hilton New Orleans Riverside, he held various hotel leadership roles with Marriott International, Two Roads Hospitality and served in meeting and events and conferences services at both Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center and Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.
Embassy Suites by Hilton Deerfield Beach Resort & Spa
Hilton has appointed Courtney Hatfield the new general manager of the newly renovated Embassy Suites by Hilton Deerfield Beach Resort & Spa in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
In her most recent role, Hatfield was complex hotel manager of Embassy Suites by Hilton International Drive Convention Center and DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando – Disney Springs Area. She has also held management positions at Hilton West Palm Beach, where she assisted in the property's pre-opening.
Kimpton Ashbel New York–Park Avenue
IHG Hotels & Resorts appointed Brenda Correa GM of the upcoming Kimpton Ashbel New York–Park Avenue.
Before joining the Kimpton Ashbel team, Correa was general manager of Iberostar 70 Park Avenue for seven years. Before her tenure in New York City, Correa held director general roles at Iberostar Costa Dorada and Iberostar Mojito & Cayo Coco.
The Resort at Pelican Hill
Shannon Gilbert is the new GM at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, Calif., which is set to transition into a St. Regis flagship in 2027. Gilbert is one of four women on the resort’s senior leadership team.
Gilbert’s career in sales and marketing includes overseeing properties within The Ritz-Carlton and Marriott portfolio, contributing to openings including Half Moon Bay and Denver, as well as the repositioning of Laguna Niguel. Additional notable hospitality experiences include serving as hotel manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles and the JW Marriott Los Angeles, L.A. LIVE. Gilbert currently serves on the boards of Visit Greater Palm Springs and California State University San Bernardino, Palm Desert Campus.
