McKibbon Hospitality recently opened the Hilton Garden Inn Cape Canaveral near Cocoa Beach in Florida and marked the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The six-story hotel—which will be operated by McKibbon Hospitality—has 156 guestrooms and suites along with 1,100 square feet of flexible meeting space. The hotel is owned by McKibbon Equities and development was managed by McKibbon Places, while Base4 served as the architect.
“We’re proud to bring the Hilton Garden Inn brand to Cape Canaveral and to play a role in supporting the region’s incredible growth,” J.B. McKibbon, president of McKibbon Equities, said in a statement. “With its proximity to Port Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center, this property was thoughtfully designed to welcome cruise passengers and families, as well as business travelers to Florida’s Space Coast. We look forward to providing a warm, memorable experience for every guest who walks through our doors.”
Located close to Port Canaveral, a rapidly growing cruise port, the property was designed with cruisegoers and families in mind. The hotel includes a grab-and-go market, and a variety of social spaces including a game room, outdoor tiki bar, game lawn and expansive pool deck. Local artwork was curated for the hotel and is displayed throughout, including two murals by Christopher Maslow.
The hotel is also home to J. Bird’s Island Eatery, an independently branded tiki bar and restaurant led by executive chef Dustin Jones. The on-site leadership for the hotel includes general manager Amanda Chades and director of sales Luz Sanchez.
