St. Regis Hotels & Resorts has introduced St. Regis Estates, a new brand geared toward properties with extensive acreage, notable historical context and a strong leisure orientation.
The concept is designed to address increased demand for privacy, authenticity and destination-focused experiences among luxury travelers. According to the brand, Estates properties will be selected based on their architectural character, natural surroundings and long-established heritage and will incorporate localized cultural, culinary and wellness programming.
“For the Astors, the founding family of the St. Regis brand, the ultimate luxury was retreating from the city to their country estates … With St. Regis Estates, we honor that legacy by celebrating each estate’s origins and creating escapes that bring people together to embrace beauty, connection and the simple pleasure of slowing down,” George Fleck, senior vice president and global brand leader for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement.
The first property to adopt the St. Regis Estates designation will be The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, scheduled to debut under the new identity in 2027. The 500-acre Southern California resort has Italian Renaissance–inspired architecture, ocean-view accommodations and two Tom Fazio-designed golf courses. The property is undergoing a multi-year renovation that includes updates to guest accommodations, public spaces, dining venues, the Coliseum Pool, spa areas and the Villa Clubhouse.
The resort will also integrate traditional St. Regis rituals such as Butler Service, Afternoon Tea and Sabrage, adapted for the Southern California market. A reimagined bar—influenced by the brand’s King Cole Bar heritage—will include a commissioned mural reflecting the site’s coastal setting.
“It is an incredible honor for Pelican Hill to serve as the inaugural St. Regis Estate,” said Kevin Kelly, general manager, The Resort at Pelican Hill, a St. Regis Estate. “This next chapter celebrates the resort’s ethos as a true sanctuary—a place where guests can experience the rhythm of Southern California through art, nature and gastronomy, elevated by the craftsmanship and service synonymous with St. Regis.”
