Columbia Hospitality adds Washington resort to portfolio

Columbia Hospitality adds Leavenworth, Wash.’s Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort to its portfolio. Columbia Hospitality will manage all operations at the 67-room resort, as well as the property’s two popular on-site restaurants, which both showcase fresh, flavorful, locally sourced food and drink. Lupine Market & Café, opening this fall and managed by the Argonaut team, will round out the offerings on the property.

“Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort has an incredible reputation and legacy, and their longstanding commitment to sustainability, creativity, and community engagement aligns beautifully with Columbia’s values,” James Oppenheimer, vice president of business development at Columbia Hospitality, said in a statement. “We could not be more excited to partner with the property, its team, and the Icicle Fund. This also marks an exciting expansion of Columbia Hospitality’s presence in Leavenworth, joining our nearby property, Icicle Village Resort, just down the road.”

The resort also creates space for guests to travel with purpose. A portion of every dollar spent on-site benefits the Icicle Fund - a nonprofit organization founded by Sleeping Lady’s founder, Harriet Bullitt. The Icicle Fund, which now owns Sleeping Lady, was established in 1999, and supports arts, history, and environmental stewardship in North Central Washington.

“Sleeping Lady is a treasure, connected to many and beloved by more of the Leavenworth community,” said Canuche Terranella, board member of The Icicle Fund. “Columbia Hospitality will bring additional support for our team members to make Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort live up to the dreams we all have for it.”
