The Floridan Palace Hotel in Tampa, Fla., is set to join the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand. As part of the rebranding process, the 212-room property—which has more than 14,000 square feet of meeting space—will undergo a $25 million renovation.
“The Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand is a natural fit, giving our guests the consistency, reassurance and benefits of Hilton’s reservation system, rewards program, and globally recognized brand, but also preserving the unique, independent hotel experience so many modern travelers value,” said Joe Smith, CEO of owner 1754 Properties, a Florida-based institutional owner, operator and lender of hotels and other real estate. “As the renovation moves into full swing, we’re excited to have Levin Investment Realty working to build a retail presence that supports and reflects the Floridan’s spirit.”
1754 Properties has secured Jane Finkel Levin, president of Levin Investment Realty, as retail leasing broker for the project. According to Smith, Levin is curating a collection of boutique-style retailers, restaurants and other services that will become amenities to the hotel and the residential units and offices that have grown up around it in the last decade. Levin works with a number of expanding independent restaurant and retail groups and is the retail leasing broker for several mixed-use developments, including boutique hotels.
“Jane’s very creative in her positioning of properties in the marketplace and has been a force in retail leasing in Tampa for 20 years,” said Alexander Galewicz, one of the principals of 1754 Properties. “With the locations fronting Florida Avenue, new retailers will benefit from the more than 25,000 vehicles that pass by each day and the hundreds of new residences being developed around the hotel by top quality developers.”
The 19-story hotel opened in 1926 as the tallest building in Tampa.
