Following a multi-phased renovation, Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead has achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The LEED designation was doled out in recognition of the Georgia hotel’s multi-year commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable operations. The multi-million-dollar renovation introduced 439 redesigned guestrooms and suites, a fully reconceptualized lobby with a new front desk and The Fabled, a lounge inspired by storytelling and anchored by a three-story waterfall. The project also added a 24-hour market showcasing local and Black-owned businesses.
“We are proud to achieve LEED Silver certification, which reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible hospitality,” Kristi Cotton-Morris, general manager of Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, said in a statement. “From energy-efficient systems to water-saving initiatives and healthier indoor environments, every detail of our operations is guided by our dedication to the planet and the well-being of our guests.”
LEED is the world’s most widely used green building rating system and a globally recognized symbol of excellence in sustainable design and operations, according to the company. Achieving LEED Silver verifies that the hotel meets stringent standards in areas including energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor air quality, sustainable materials and site development.
