Grand Hyatt DFW marks 20 years with $34M reno

In Texas, the Grand Hyatt DFW Airport is marking its 20th anniversary by embarking on a comprehensive $34 million renovation slated for completion in early 2026.

The multiphase project will upgrade all guestrooms and suites, refresh the hotel’s restaurant and lounge, update the lobby, expand meeting and event spaces and add new rooftop venues and corridors throughout the property.

“We are thrilled to celebrate 20 years of memorable guest experiences and extraordinary meeting and events,” Jeff Babcock, general manager of Grand Hyatt DFW Airport, said in a statement. “As we elevate and expand the hotel to accommodate more guests and groups and implement the latest technology, the transformation of the property reinforces its legacy as the premier hotel and event venue within Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.”

The renovation introduces an evolved design direction influenced by aeronautical elements and the Texas landscape. The reimagined lobby has marble tile flooring, enhanced lighting, dramatic ceiling finishes and artwork sourced from local artists, according to the company.

Meanwhile, guestroom and suite inventory will increase from 298 to 315, with new rooms showcasing a palette of subdued greens and natural blues inspired by Western prairie tones. Upgraded technology includes automatic blackout sheers and shades that activate upon guest entry. Bathrooms have been modernized with enlarged vanities, showers and soaking tubs.

The hotel’s signature Grand Met Restaurant and Lounge incorporates new seating, an acoustically enhanced ceiling and newly created private and semi-private dining rooms.

Grand Hyatt DFW has more than 20,000-square-feet of meeting and event space, including a 6,600-square-foot ballroom. The renovation will introduce a top-floor executive boardroom and a new indoor/outdoor rooftop venue overlooking airport runways. Updated guest corridors will feature plush carpeting with patterns inspired by airport design and aircraft movement.

Opened in 2005, Grand Hyatt DFW was the first Grand Hyatt-branded airport hotel and offers direct access to Terminal D and Skylink.
