Philips launches energy-efficient TVs with cloud gaming

PPDS—the global provider of Philips Professional Displays—has unveiled the latest evolution of its hospitality TV portfolio with the upcoming Philips MediaSuite 6000 and 7000 Series, which integrates Google Cast, Apple AirPlay, Netflix and now cloud gaming capabilities.

The new models introduce Ambilight technology to the hospitality sector while achieving the first European Energy Label E rating for hotel TVs. The 2026 launch underscores PPDS’ continued efforts in connected, guest-centric display innovation.

“We transformed hotel TV expectations with the first MediaSuite in 2019,” Jeroen Verhaeghe, global director of product strategy and partnerships at PPDS, said in a statement. “Now, we’re redefining them again—raising entertainment standards while supporting the sustainability and efficiency goals of modern hotels.”

With distribution among global operators including Accor, IHG, Marriott and Radisson, Philips MediaSuite continues its focus on home-style streaming experiences. Both the 6000 and 7000 Series are Netflix-ready and Google-certified, giving guests access to Google Cast, Google Play apps, and a secure, personalized viewing environment, according to the company. With Apple AirPlay compatibility, users can stream directly from iPhones or iPads to the in-room screen, while all login data is automatically erased at checkout to ensure privacy.

The new MediaSuite TVs come cloud gaming–ready, enabling guests to access games without a console. Hotels can provide or rent controllers, offering guests the flexibility to stay connected to their gaming experience while away from home.

The Philips MediaSuite 6000 Series integrates Ambilight, which projects dynamic colored light behind the screen designed to extend the visual field, enhance ambience and reduce eye strain. The TVs also feature a custom-engineered audio system and Bluetooth headphone support.

Designed for compact environments, the 7000 Series UltraSlim measures less than 3 cm deep and is available in sizes from 24” to 65”. These models include conformal coating for protection against salt, dust and humidity for maritime locations.

Operationally, both Series integrate with IPTV systems and feature triple tuners supporting cable, satellite and terrestrial channels. The 6000 and 7000 Series are also designed to consume less energy while delivering improved performance, according to the company. Ambilight LEDs minimize the need for other room lighting, and PPDS’ CMND remote management platform allows firmware updates and system maintenance without in-room visits.
